Too Cozy

Straight out the cauldron, birthed from the Trill principles of the A$AP Mob and the Florida Underground Scene, Prx Jit pronounced “Pro Jit”, is staking it’s claim as the first Trillwear brand with their inaugural “Cozy Duffle” 1 of 1 piece and accompanying ad campaign, an ode to A$AP Yams and everything he embodied.

Keep it Jit

Before the official t shirts drop, the brand wanted to take a different approach with their inaugural release with this 1 of 1 commissioned “Cozy Duffle”, crafted by Cowboy By Takeo and Moose In The Burg. The purple and red exterior are the brands primary colors also featuring hits of the new “Prx Jit” logo, also commissioned by Takeo. You already know “Everything Is Purple”. The “Cozy” fur interior sets this piece amongst the rest, furthering the homage to Yams, we “Too Cozy”.

“Cozy Duffle”

To accompany the launch of Prx Jit as well as tell the story of the “Cozy Duffle”, the brand released the “Cozy Duffle” ad on New Years Eve. An ode to the old school “A.L.I.E.N.” commercial featured in the “Yams Day 2021” video. The track “Basket Case” by DangerDoom sets the vibe.

Starting Takeo as the “Prx Jit”, Landkiss sees the “Cozy Duffle” at the drop site, while the Prx Jit comes onto the scene. Unseen by the Prx Jit, Landkiss waves over, alerting a hoard of goons waiting in the wings.

Armed with bats, the goons emerge with one things on their mind, securing the “Cozy Duffle” and putting the beat down on the jit.

Bag Secure
“Get Em”

The Prx Jit secures the bag first and makes a run for it. With a head start our hero is able to dart past his attackers with bag in hand.

Straight out the cauldron

With the “Keep It Jit” drop already announced, who knows what visuals will accompany that drop as well as what else the team behind Prx Jit will unleash upon the burg. Just remember kids “Keep It Jit”.

Heel

With the objective to “HeelDaWrld”, Heel is hitting the ring swinging, with their inaugural collection.

Off rips, I really dig what Heel is bringing to the community, many people are doing custom or repurposed jeans, but the story Heel is trying to tell adds in a little more flavor.

Round 1
Heel or Face

What I feel will become a staple of Heel, these repurposed jeans feature the Heel branding on the front, with the quote “Good People Copy, Great People Heel”. Once these get a couple placements in the scene it’s game over. “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattering” is what they used to say, but this new phrase from Heel hits different.

3 Ks

The “3 Ks” tee only comes in this white color way so far, but I feel this allows the Heel name tag to show off more as well as focus attention to the guns. I really mess with that “Hello my name is Heel” branding, definitely could see that on a hat very soon. Really solid first release.

My Name Is

No release date has been announced for the drop as of yet, but at Jit Camp we come to the fight early. I can only imagine what other ad concepts as well as additions to the collection will continue to be teased out over the next couple weeks, keep it locked for more up dates as we slowly “HeelDaWrld!”.

Class Is In Session

Second2None Academy teases out their debut collection “Back 2 School” which of course is slated to drop on 2/22/22.

Sage The Fox- Take A Risk EP

Darkaire’s own Sage The Fox gives fans a small taste of what’s to come on his latest project “Take A Risk”.

🏕 💯🦊 ⚡️

The project starts out with the cloudy synth track “Risky Business”. I can definitely see this joint getting thrown into the live set, it will get the crowd hype out the gate. The way the beat breaks down on the hook is really dope, plus Sage stays switching up his flows from track to track.

“Drak” is the anthem. We def need a video from Goodjobadult to accompany this banger. I could totally see this track on a fighting video game like Tekken or something. I dig how short and sweet this one is. The part where the beat disappears is very dope, giving Sage’s bars center stage.

“Language Arts” puts Sage on his melodic shit. Since the project is called “Take A Risk” I feel the more sing songy elements are Sage’s attempt at that, and he nails it for sure, doing it his way, while not coming off as corny. Great way to end the project.

With “Genesis” being one of my favorite projects of 2021, “Take A Risk” is more than enough to hold me over until the next full project from Sage The Fox. Big shout out to The Darkaire family as well, y’all are really killing it with the movement.

Midwest Mona Lisa

Nate Guenther and Robert Gallardo have collabed on a brand new NFT collection titled “Midwest Mona Lisa”, combining their love for photography and the Mona Lisa concept.

The 11 piece collection features portraits of Nate’s friends from Indiana, striking the Mona Lisa pose. Gallardo has touched on the “Mona Lisa” concept on a few of his other projects like the “User Interface Collection” and his latest “No PFP” collection.

I really dig the concept of photographs being NFTs. I have seen some of my favorite photographers mint some of their best work on Opensea in collection form. Say the image becomes iconic, this now allows the owner of the NFT as well as the creator of the pieces to benefit from posters and prints being created in its likeness to the masses.

It was interesting to see all male models being used, creating the “Mona Lisa” pose in their own image. The side by side contrasting photos are a really dope touch, coming off as a before and after shots.

With the pieces going for .11 ETH or about $300, these are no brainer for any supporter of Gallardo and Nate. It’s not often that you can pick up a photo piece or collab piece from Gallardo so I feel these will become very rare down the road. WEB3 is definitely an interesting place, changing the way we all curate and collect as humans.

Polo Bear by FUKK EM

Fukk EM Worldwide is continuing to apply pressure all throughout 2022, once again by doing their take on a brand we know and love, this time the “Polo Bear” gets the FUKK EM treatment.

Other people have done their take on the “Polo Bear” previously but very rarely change up how the bear looks. I really dig how the bear is on his street shit, with FUKK EM on his chest and pants. Since it’s $GREY Gang all day you already know I got my eye on that grey piece.

The white color way is just some classic shit. The red from the FUKK EM logo below the bear really hits on these. I really feel these will become a fan favorite amongst supporters of the brand, getting hella placements in the streets.

FUKK EM Worldwide has without a doubt cemented themselves has one of the faces of Tampa Bay Streetwear, with each piece having its own story while still staying on brand. Shout out my dawg Fat Geechie.

Living Legend

Creative James Sellers is giving flowers to those who can still smell them with his latest “Living Legends” recycled Levis, dropping on 2/22/22.

With living legends already sporting the jeans, like Gallardo and Proper Jones, it’s only a matter of time before these “Living Legend” are one of St.Pete’s premier statement pieces.

It’s has not yet be revealed how to obtain the jeans but I am sure James will either bless you or if you reach out to him he can get you dripped. I am not sure how limited these will be but I am sure they are a limited run. I for sure love the concept of these Levi’s, allowing the person rocking them to be on their “Living Legend”, icon shit.

Ye 2024

James is also dropping these camo “Ye 2024”, “If I Could Change Anything I would Change Everything” pieces. A different take than the “Living Legend” pieces but these still have their own story. That red and blue embroidery really hits on the camo joints.

James Sellers is doing some game changing work, from his art to his clothing, but I feel these “Living Legend” pieces will have a big impact on the community throughout the Tampa Bay fashion scene.

Otterocity

The homie Jomel Fernandez, creator of “The Fernandez Vlogs” takes his stab at the Merch game with his latest creation “Otterocity”.

With the homies over at BTMVLE being the one stop shop for creation, you already know the homie Takeo was hands on with Jomel on the branding and logo design. The pieces are all hand printed in house, with each item featuring that Otterocity branding.

Issa Vibe

The logo tees come in black and white color ways. Personally I am more of a black tee guy so until we get some grey pieces the black is my favorite. The Otter with the shades has a really dope design, and definitely fits the brand. If it comes out the BTMVLE you know the quality it’s top tier.

Champions

The homie Jomel went all in on these Champion long sleeves, featuring the Otterocity word mark on the sleeves as well as that fly Otter on the chest.

Really solid first drop from the brand, I can definitely see new color ways and pieces becoming available soon. Otterocity isn’t just a brand it’s a way of life. Bang Bang Otter Gang!

Top Shotta

Kenny H is one of the most prolific directors, working with some of the biggest names in the Tampa Bay Area to NY. Here are some of my favorite videos from the homie who always holds it down for Tampa Bay.

The vintage vibes on Tony Shhnow’s “Slow Crash” set the tone for sure. The beat has a classic feel to it, adding to the late night cable esthetic of the video.

Shout outs to the Mob

The video for YG Addie’s “Soul Reaver” is a favorite of mine. The outside pop up vibe as well as YG Addie talking his shit in the being seems to be the blueprint of what would follow in Marino Infantry videos. Shot on scene at the LYBB pop up added to the vibe. The “Legacy Of Kain” clips added a dope nod to fans of the game.

The video for Peril Sensei’s “Gangbangin” has old school “Wu Tang” vibes to the way it’s shot, but with that gritty edge Kenny brings to his videos, especially when Lil Fancy is involved. From the bonfire to the dice throwing, this video has it all. It’s crazy how Kenny is able to almost cut and paste elements of the video, almost appearing on top of each other.

Free $krilla

The simplified nature of the “Key Kartel Freestyle” video fits the track perfectly. Dope bars over a banger beat from the Kartel, what more could you ask for. The way Fancy hangs off the ladder was a really crazy shot.

Kenny H always comes through for St.Pete’s own Kent Loon. Kenny is always able to capture the Trill, leaned out nature of Loon’s tracks, especially on “Ben 10”. All the crazy effects on the watch as well as the codeine drenched frame, give the track new life.

Gucci Print

“Gucci Print” off the 813 Essential album from Lil Fancy and E.$krilla is a classic at this point. The Harmony Korine, filthy esthetic of the video sets it apart from a lot of other shit being made in the scene. The run down trailer has the homies on their “Breaking Bad” shit. Free $krilla!

A certified 727 classic, “Will Pimp pt.2” is iconic as fuck. The trill esthetic of the video provided by Kenny furthers that vibe even more. Mari stays on his pimp shit, with a double cup and Henny bottle in hand. This track and video is instrumental in the Trill scene in St.Pete, so shout out to Kenny & Mari for bringing it to life.

Kenny H stays working, if it’s not on a video, he’s dropping a new NFT on NeutralNFT. Big things are in store for Kenny H, I definitely see him applying pressure all year and beyond. Keep putting on for the city bro!

Another Vintage Expo

Culture Control and HellBilly Branded are joining forces for “Another Vintage Expo” this Friday at 81 Bay Brewing Co. The vendors list is stacked for this Expo but I wanted to shed light on some of the homies that will be pulling up and setting up shop at the event.

John Drugs himself HellBilly Branded is one of the biggest movers and shakers in the Tampa Bay vintage game. His eye and curation process his solely his own making a piece from HellBilly have more meaning to it than just a simple vintage piece. I am on the hunt for some vintage sports tees so hopefully John Drugs has my fix.

It’s always a joy to see the homie Proper Jones at any event. I am sure he will have some hand picked gems he’s curated over the past couple weeks, as well as his own “P.R.O.P.E.R.” Tees and long sleeves. Mr.Jones is a sommelier in his own right, his booth is can’t miss.

Big Hunt

Hunts Fabrications has cemented themselves as the premier tie dye house in the area. From the custom Chrome dyes to their own hand made pieces, it will be interesting to see what surprises Hunt has up his sleeve for the event.

Made In REACH

The homies at REACH dabble a bit in the vintage game, offering a vintage rack at the front of the store at all times, as well as their own takes on classic Tampa Bay Sports drip. I am sure the homies will have a little bit of everything available at the event, as well as a few unreleased pieces for the REACH heads.

It’s really exciting to see the entire fashion and vintage community come together and put on huge events like these, as well as the many others that pop up around Tampa Bay. This event has me more hype than Gasparilla anyway so come out and get dripped.
