Onlyonetwo- Aether

The Black Alchemist Onlyonetwo ascends to a higher plain after mastering the fifth element “Aether”.

🏕💯 🧙🏽‍♂️ 🔯

Aether the fifth element is the material that fills the region of the universe beyond the terrestrial sphere. After dropping one of my favorite albums of the year, I knew Two wasn’t going to pull any punches, on this one he’s coming for heads, and bringing the homies along with him.

“Magic (Heka)” was the perfect intro for the project. Of rips we know Two isn’t playing, his flow is so cold on this one, you can feel the confidence in every bar. Not many people can make memorable hooks for their own track but Two does it every time with ease. That Rey Mysterio line was a stand out. It would be dope to see a video for this joint.

“2 Much 2 Lose” slows things down a bit, but Two is still talking that talk. The hook on this one might be one of my favorites Two has done to date. Those piano keys on the beat are slamming, adding to the jiggy vibe of the track. Two puts us onto game at the end of the song.

“Months” featuring Big Mochino is a song you can just ride out to. The wavy production is hard hitting, yet ethereal. Big Mochino pulls up on the track, adding some gravitas with that money talk. This is my favorite beat on the whole production, the high energy gives off an anthem vibe on the hook.

“Sphinx Talk” brings back the piano, but on a more somber vibe. Two speeds up his flow a tad on the track but he rides the beat either way. The hook is my favorite part of the song, especially when that guitar kicks in the background.

“What’s Real” takes us through Two’s life, discussing the people in his life that gave him the foundation he continues to this day. Bro always keeps it real in his raps, unlike most of the people in the game.

The homie Jha Asjawn comes through on “Street Pain”, holding his own with Onlyonetwo. You can really hear Two’s emotion on the hook, allowing the listener to connect more with the song. Many other of Two’s projects feature a lot of guitar but this project is more piano based.

“Gossip” brings thing a bit to the dark side, with Two dealing with falling in love with demons and fake homies. That Unkle Luc line was so fire. Two just sounds so focused on this joint, it’s straight bars, pretty much going no hook until the end of the track.

“Don’t Hurt Me” has Two on his vulnerable side, something he hasn’t been shy to speak about on tracks, but this time it sounds like it’s coming from a place of real loss. The little splash of reggae vibes gives the song a bit of an island vibe to it, which could come off corny if not executed right but Two nails it.

“Wanted” featuring the homie W R E C K A is one of my favorite tracks off the project. I dig the more down under style of guitar production. There’s always mad quotables when W R E C K A shows up on a track. That goblet line of the hook is a memorable one for sure.

The project ends on a dark note with “Altercation”. The song could either be about an internal altercation with one’s self or a physical person. People be nosey as hell, so I can definitely relate with Two on this track. Two has been through hard times before, and he always comes out on top, even stronger than before.

Onlyonetwo continues to showcase why he is the premier emcee not only on the Tampa Bay Hip Hop side of things, but in the entire game. Who else is dropping their best work to date and the following it up with another full project of bangers right after. With a few months still left in the year, I am sure Two isn’t done applying that pressure just yet.

Sage The Fox- Sage The World (Lightyear)

Sage The Fox comes through on “Sage The World (Lightyear)”, delivering Darkaire a cornerstone project they can build off of.

🏕💯🦊🥂

The project kicks things off with “Intro (Bigger Than Us”, a menacing intro that I can almost guarantee was produced by Dr.Dredd. The instrumental sets the tone for what we have in store for the rest of the project.

“Dig Deep” is one of those fast paced tracks Sage always shines on. You’ll be ready for war after bumping this track. I dig the cloudy fast paced production, it sounds like some Rainbow Road shit. After “Demon Slayer” this should be the next video. I can see Sage running down Ybor or Central Ave with his army, while squad ready.

“Demon Slayer” is the lead single of the project, and its safe to say its one of Sage’s best track. Bringing back that fast paced vibe, it’s hard to tell if Sage is slaying these hoes or his real life demons. Sage’s flow on the final verse is my favorite part of the track. We need a video for this one A$AP! You can’t help but bang your head to this one.

“Do Not Disturb” should start off all of Sage’s live sets. I can see this one getting heavy rotation at the gym. That slurm line was pretty dope. I like how the beat switches up a bit towards the mid point of the track. This one is destined to be the fan favorite off the album. When the beat fades out towards the end is one of my favorite moments on the project.

Have you ever seen a fox in a Monclear Coat? “Monclear Fox” is deep down a smoking track. Unless you dang you definitely can’t hit this Za. It would dope to see Breezy Montclair pop up on the remix. The “You Can’t Hit This” hook will be running through your head for days. The rhyme scheme Sage uses towards the end of the first verse is one of my favorites on the project. Known for his fast paced songs, it was dope to hear Sage slow things down at the end.

“Jason Bourne” is a more light hearted track than anything else on the album, which was a nice change of pace at this point in the album.

“WLML (Women Lie, Men Lie)” has a fire almost Egyptian style beat. Sage kills it on the vocals of the hook brining his tone up and down. The rhyme schemes are crazy on this one, but the best flow happens on the first verse. One of my favorite Sage tracks to date. I see an “Arabian Nights” Belly Dancer strip club type vibe for this video.

The project closes out on “LnM”. Off rips I mess with the cloudy atmospheric production. Sage’s flow is a bit hazy but it fits well with the beat. I feel Sage usually ends his projects on more introspective tracks like this one. Bro can really spit that street life when he wants to.

Following up “Genesis” with “Sage The World” was a tough task but Sage exceeded expectations. Like I said in the intro this project is gonna be one of those pillars we look at when we bring up Darkaire, and their impact on the Tampa Bay Scene. I am really hype to hear what’s next from the label as well as what Sage will release onto the world next, especially with my favorite track “Boffum” still waiting for a project to land on.

Almighty REACH

Fresh off their Miami Pop Up a few weeks back, the homies from REACH have been in the lab working on two dope new tee drops, as well as their first dive into a female REACH line.

🏕💯👺

First off let’s get into this staple tee. Basically a reverse of the colors the brand is known for, you can go wrong with this tee. I would like the see a black version of this with red font eventually drop but this one would be right at home at a Bucs game.

Ring Of Hands

The “Ring Of Hands” is a reoccurring theme in the work of REACH. From the real life version in their OG “Air REACH” campaign, to the 1 of 1 bag they have teased out in the past.

Just REACH
Yup in my white tee

Out of the entire drop I would have to go with the black and white joint. The white tee is dope for sure but black just stays cleaner longer allowing me to rock it year round. But if you really want to flex picking up both is a solid option.

Full Circle

The Royal Blue tee with the red hands would be my second choice. REACH hasn’t really messed with this color combo in the past so it was refreshing to see some new colors thrown into the mix.

Cut & Sew
For the ladies
Team Grey

Over the past few months we have gotten a few sneak peaks of the upcoming REACH Women’s line that will be dropping soon. To date I believe there are only a few 1 of 1 pieces that were available including the “Scab Denim” piece pictured above.

It’s dope to see the evolution of the brand in such a short time. I feel the new female line of pieces will really take off, with many of them already selling out. REACH always stays on brand, doing it their way. Everything is Made In REACH.

Forgotten Dreams

REACH is always putting me on to the hottest brands in and outside of the city, often using the shop has a pop up hub for those brands. It’s been a minute but finally there is a new Pop Up at REACH this time featuring here2inspire.

🏕💯🤍🙌🏼
🏕💯🤍

Not much is known about here2inspire but from what I can see that have kicked things off with their inaugural tee shirt drop believed to be titled “Distorted Reality” featuring cream and black color ways.

C.R.E.A.M.

Personally being a fan of more grey or off white colors I would most likely go with the “Distorted Reality Cream” tee but I really mess with the designs on each shirt. The way the brownish graphic fits on the cream tee is a vibe for sure.

Blaque Out
Distorted Reality

You can’t go wrong with the black color way either though. The white graphic crates a yin and yang effect on the black tee. If they could some incorporate a grey shirt with a purple graphic on an upcoming tee I would pick it up for sure.

I am really digging the vibe of here2inspire. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the brand, as well as how they are able to build their world in upcoming collections and campaigns. Pull up to REACH Sept 10 to get that exclusive experience.

Return To The Winners Circle

Now that things have finally cooled down a bit, my favorite monthly event the Backlot Breakfast Club returns with a live streaming of the Italian F1 GP, as well as the coffee and cars per usual.

🏕💯🏁

Just being at the studio is a vibe alone, not to mention chilling with the homies and who ever else pulls up to the studio, you really never know who will pull up. Whenever they have had the Gumball races or just car footage in general on the projector in the studio it always peaks my interest, so it will be a nice opportunity to catch the race with friends.

Shout out to Bandit
🏕💯 ☕️ 🏁

I am more of a matcha or chai tea guy but Bandit will be on hand serving up the cities best coffee. Check out the SAFDS X Bandit limited roast that was curated by Scott and the good people over at Bandit. Take home a bag or two to hold you over until the October event.

🏕💯💐

Always a pleasure when Gypsy Stems pops up to the events. It’s always a dope reminder to pick up something for one of your loved ones, even if it’s just a small bouquet, Gypsy Stems always gets me right no matter what budget I am working with.

🏕💯🐶📡

Word on the street is DJ Bookster and the rest of the Dog Radio Soundsystem will be running the 1s and 2s for the event, especially with Digitalcasket & Abstractpoet in the building you know its going down, bark bark!

SAFDS

SAFDS Studio tees and crewnecks will be available to have you looking fresh for all seasons. Coming in black and white color ways the tees are A1 quality and have a nice fit that works well in all climates. Rumor has it there’s an exclusive Gallardo X SAFDS grey piece making my it’s way around the burg. You already know that joint is collab of the year fam.

Like I said The Backlot Breakfast Club is my favorite monthly event to go to when it’s in season. I look at it as my monthly commitment but in the best way possible. Can’t tell you how many dope moments and memories I have shared at the Breakfast Club and that’s only after year one. Big shout out to Scott, Marti, and Laurent for always making us feel at home and throwing a must attend event every month.

Shout Out eightonethree

The homies from across bridge shop eightonethree celebrates the day of their name sake with brand new shop tees in the grey and black color ways.

Shout eightonethree

eightonethree always keeps it clean with their designs. Normally on tees the logo will be in the center back piece of the shirt. eightonethree goes a different route by placing the shops branding on the back left shoulder. Don’t think I have seen this look done before, so shout outs to them.

Team Grey

You already know if it’s Grey it’s for me. The minimalistic sleek look is my vibe for sure, allowing me to rock the shop without looking like a billboard.

Blaque out
813

The black tee is pretty dope as well, giving off adult swim vibes. The white font with on the black tee contrasts nicely.

With these pieces dropping on 8/13 we even have more of a connection since that is indeed my bday as well. I think at the moment these pieces are sold out but keep up to date with the shop to see when a possible restock might occur. Shout out eightonethree.

Pusha Preme- Hate To Say Goodbye

Pusha Preme delivers his most introspective project to date with “Hate To Say Goodbye”, finishing out a trilogy of albums, dealing with growth, acceptance , loss, and every that comes along with it.

🏕💯🥷

The two covers released for this project really explain a lot. The OG cover featured a young Preme and his grandmother whom the album is dedicated to. The second cover designed by MGSVSNS features the various masks of Preme forming a Rorschach Test adding to the therapy concept that is present throughout interludes on the project. If “Before I Say, I Do” is about growth, and “Red Oktober” is about acceptance, than “Hate To Say Goodbye” is about loss, which is mirrored with the darker lyrics and production on display.

The project starts off with Preme’s interpretation of Biggie’s “Mo Money Mo Problems”. I dig the angelic vocals that greet us at the beginning of the track. The production is so epic on this joint and throughout the whole project, Preme on his stadium show vibes with this project. People just think Preme is on his Afro Beat shit but he comes through heavy with the bars on the opener. The track closes with Preme entering his first therapy session.

“Rolling Stones” is Preme’s rockstar moment assisted by Matthew Holt. That “Rollin Rollin Rollin” line gets me every time. Preme’s vocals are top tier on this track fitting with the dark futuristic trap production. When the song breaks down at the end giving of a slowed down vibe, we really enter the night show. The song closes out with Preme being asked if he feels respected in the game and receives the credit he deserves.

“I Be The Way (Winnie)” featuring the icon YZM has Preme in the lane he crafted. Preme does put his influences on his sleeve but when he dabbles in the Afro Beat & futuristic trap sounds he creates a lane all on his own. YZM killed his verse adding a touch of gravitas to a track you wouldn’t usually hear him on. This should be the next video for the album and will ultimately become a Tampa Bay classic record.

“Word To My Dead” is one of my favorite tracks of the year since I heard it. To me it brings the anthem vibes of “Outside” and meshes them with “Never Thought”, making the ultimate banger and street anthem. The hook will be stuck in your head for years. That shit is so cold when Preme comes in like “They Want Me Dead or Alive!!!”. Can we please get Jay Browne on the remix.

The way Preme is able to mix the Afro Beat up with the Hip Hop elements is really special. His more lighter introspective tracks always have that feel good vibe despite how sad the content is. “Love Me” is a really relatable track, I feel everyone can connect with. If anyone else made this track it would come off as corny but Preme nails it every time.

“Live Free Die Young” with Brandon Gomes was the lead single off the project. It kind of has that end of the night “last call” type vibe to it but the drums give you no choice but to move your body. Brandon Gomes does his thing on the vocals, adding a different voice to the track.

We take it back to the streets on “Got Me F’UP” featuring Tae Bae. This one’s a certified banger straight outta drop city. Just when you think Preme is on his somber shit he reminds y’all who the real hit maker is. Tae Bae adds that street vibe to the track. We really in the trenches on this joint. A Ric Flair sample never hurts either.

“No Going Back” is my favorite Afro Beat style track on the album. Despite the more somber tone, the uplifting beat turns a rainy day sunny. Preme’s vocals on this one are the best they have been on the album. Kashvilli snapped on his vocals as well, creating one of my favorite moments on the album.

“Ten Toes Down/ OMG!” featuring J.Palm is for all the day ones. Loyalty is a big theme Preme dabbles with on all his projects, but I feel this track is where he truly conveys that message. The beat switch into “OMG!” is one of my favorite moments of the album. That shit is so epic it needs to be heard at Amalie Arena or something. The way things slow down and Preme matches the tempo is so on point. The sax solo to end out the song is finishing touch to a great song.

At the end of the track Preme tells the therapist what loyalty means to him, before we are met with the “Good Bye Skit”.

“Beautiful Liar” is another one of my favorite Afro Beat joints on the project. The guitar sample on the beat gets you moving from side to side. Preme delivers one of my favorite hooks on the album on this track. Smoke1hunit adds his perspective adding a different tone to the song. Preme really out did himself on this one, we definitely need visuals for this one or “No Going Back”.

“Billboard” powers up Preme into his Billboard P form. This one is a dope banger without it feeling like an anthem. I really dig Preme’s vocal approach to this song. Jawny Badluck pops up and drops assists Preme in that plaque talk.

“Triple Threat” is for all the Hip Hop heads. Jay Browne finally makes his way onto the album along with Reachingnova. It’s not often we get back to back bangers. The synths and backing beat keep building on themselves allowing the production to sound mad epic. Jay Browne has been killing features over the last few years, and this is no exception. Can’t wait to hear this track live.

“Feel Some Way” brings me back to those “Before I Say, I Do” type of vibes. This tracks has the most dance appeal than any of the other tracks on the album. It gives me that sunny day with the top down type energy. The claps before the hook are very on point, with Preme doing his thing on the hook. The way the track faded out was really cool, almost acting as the end of the project.

The project closes out on the “Outside Remix” featuring DJ Dempsy and the 813 legend Tom G. “Feel Some Way” to me is the true ending of the album with this remix acting as a bonus track. Preme really made this one for the 813 and it was dope for Tom G to pull up on the record, adding that gravitas and street cred to the record that makes it a classic on both sides of the bay.

“Before I Say, I Do” and “Red Oktober” are both 813 Essentials in their own right, but I feel “Hate To Say Goodbye” is Preme really firing on all cylinders. The Afro Beat stuff is the best it’s ever been, and the futuristic trap anthems hold their own with any of Preme’s past efforts. What I like most about this project is Preme went all in on his sound, building on the elements he has set in place before, while keeping his influences in spots but not bringing them to the forefront. Really amazing project and great way to end out the trilogy of albums. This is one of the best produced albums of the year, and you will definitely see it on my end of the year list.

Producer Spotlight: Monk Noise

The Tampa Bay Area is filled with so many amazing producers who craft the sounds of some of our favorite artists. I decided to shed some light on some of my favorite producers hailing from both sides of the bay. On this first installment we are going to look at Monk Noise one of the 727s up and coming producers.

🏕💯💛

Monks early beats feature more sample based production over hard hitting drums, but more recently the homie has been dabbling into more electronic and string based production, focusing more on the instruments rather than the sample.

The Cauldron

Monk went for a darker tone on what I call “The Cauldron”. I dig the bone chilling sounds that make up the beat, but it’s the hard hitting 808s and Hi Hats that take it to the next level. Really trying to get Renald Bart, Sage The Fox, Dying Out South, and Richie Guapo on this joint for Jit$ Never Wxrry.

Gigan 🏕💯💎

This cloud rap inspired track is a banger for sure. I call it “Gigan” because it sounds like the monster Gigan from Godzilla traveling through space. This beat was made for Drogotdoe, hopefully we can make it happen for Jit$ Never Wxrry.

Coliseum

“Coliseum” is on some epic shit. The somber horns that fill the beat take us back in time, until the hard hitting drums wake us back up. I have Deleteeglitch, 9henom, YZM, and Heyeyella in mind for this one. Will you enter the coliseum?

Special Herbs

“Bowl O Veggies” gives me that DOOM “Special Herbs” vibes. I would like to see Monk dabble into more production like this, just a chill vibe. I could see Junkyrd on this track it fits his style.

Wings Of Desire

Back on his sample tip, Monk taps in with the great Sade for the sample on “Wings Of Desire”. You can just let the instrumental just ride on this one. Not sure who I would like to see on this one, maybe Deleteeglitch & Skully Cipriani.

Dropping beats everyday Monk Noise is one of the most consistent producers in the Burg, sharpening his sword with each beat. Be on the look out for Jit$ Never Wxrry, the homie will have a couple placements on there.

Who do you want to see featured on the second Producer Spotlight article? Keep it locked to Jitcamp.com.

The Bull Is Coming

Concealed Untied follows up their debut collection with a small capsule dubbed “China Shop Bull”, featuring a brand new tee, trucker hat, and belt and buckle combo.

🏕💯🔭
Bucking Bull

The graphic on this tee goes so crazy. You can see the recklessness of the Bull, shaking the earth around it. The pink color way reminds me of the old pins and pluses esthetic but through the Concealed lens.

Scope
Chaos

These new “Chaos” truckers are a statement piece of the year contender. That alternative concealed scope logo is so fire it can be paired with any color but the red stands out more. Don’t get caught in the scope.

Respect the shooter
The Colt

“The Colt” belt and buckle set puts the collection over the top. Mainly known for the patchwork denim and the other reworked denim pieces Concealed has dropped in the past makes it a no brainer. The buckle piece ties in well with the “Bull In A China Shop” theme, on some 21st Century Matador shit.

🏕💯🐃

The growth is exponential. I really love the direction Concealed United is heading towards. Mostly known for the pant pieces, the move into more well rounded collections with a overall theme and roll out was a necessary evolution. The collection is available now on concealedunited.com.
