To show love to the community after reaching 1,000 followers on IG, the good people over at Cowboy By Takeo are throwing a Cowboy Party 2.
ššÆš¤
Cowboy knows how to throw a party whether is the Pourin up some Cowboy Lemonade or just vibing with the dope tunes and vendors. Thereās something for everyone to enjoy.
A Dynamic Duo
T.Couture is back on the 1s & 2s playing all your favorites as well as dropping some new joints on the audience. DJ Don Roc will also be jamming a set, so yāall better be ready for some $lugg shit.
ššÆš
Fresh of their collab with Doghunter3k, the homie will be pulling up and doing live tattoos featured from the sketch sheet that inspired the collaboration. Collab tees will also be available in a limited run so donāt sleep.
ššÆšš
A special guest duo has been rumored to be performing at the party. Word on the street is they have a St.Pete Hip Hop classic under their belt, as well as a love for slugged music.
Donāt forget to pick up a Cowboy Party 2 shirt to commemorate this historic event. Everyone wearing Cowboy gets in free! Yāall already know the drill anyone that wants Cowboy will be able to get Cowboy, so pull up on gang.
My brothers from REACH are constantly applying pressure, this time with their 2nd Pop Up at Neiman Marcus Tampa.
ššÆšš½
The first pop up the homies did at Neimanās is tied with the Marino Infantry Pop Up for my favorite pop ups at REACH. It just felt like a milestone moment for the entire family, with the brand standing under the same room as some of the worlds most coveted high fashion brands
REACH for the Moon
Last time gang pulled up with that exclusive Neimans āRed Moonā tee. Little has been released on whatās droppin at the event but you already know that brand new hemp inspired āTestamentā tee will be available as well as the limited socks. There was a ton on surprise drops last event so I can only imagine whatās droppin today.
Itās pretty surreal that a little over a month ago the last Neimanās Pop Up happened and the homies are already back again, just shows that all the grinding pays off. Everything is Made In REACH.
NAHP Studios flips vape culture on its head with their latest āThis My Last Oneā hoodie drop.
ššÆš”š¦
Vapes were created as an healthier alternative to smoking cigarettes but in reality you are just trading one habit for another. Smokers and vapors will always claim āOh yeah bro this is my last one, Iām done after thisā but we all know right after we leave the party they are hitting up the Wawa for another Puff Bar.
The front of the hoodie features a vapor filled graphic with a NAHP vape featuring the flavor āBerry Addictingā with This My Last One featured above that. The back of the hoodie spells out āNot Another House Partyā with consume responsibly featured below.
Really hype to see what NAHP has up their sleeve next, or possibly even more additions to this collection in the future.
The homies at REACH are back with the latest addition to their āTestamentā collection, featuring the iconic quote āYou Aināt right with REACH, If You Aināt Right With Godā.
The brand new āHempā color way with cream 3-D puffed ink might be my favorite of the entire collection. Itās probably the hemp and cream color combination but this piece has a bit of NYC vibes to me like some 90s Era shit. Whenever I see this shirt I just wanna put on some Wu Tang or Griselda.
The last two color ways in the collection had more of a summer time vibe but this one was made for the upcoming Fall and Winter days. Since I have the rest of the collection itās only right I go pick up the latest installment, you already know itās gonna be heavy in the rotation.
Just like everything the homies drop this piece is very limited and once itās gone itās gone. Everything is Made In REACH.
Been doing the 727 Hip Hop Classics reviews for about a year or so now but I wanted to switch it up and shed some light on some of the shorter projects to come out of the burg. We are kicking the series off with what could quite possibly be my favorite project from Local Muzik Groups own Mari So Dope āO.Y.C.P.F.Fā or ā Only You Can Prevent Forest Firesā.
ššÆš„
The project starts off with the jazzy āGabrielleā with production from frequent collaborator Smoke Dawg. Whenever Mari touches the mic he always brings a pinpesque confidence. It was dope how he flipped the āphone jumpin like Gabrielleā hook into several different parts of the verses.
Itās always a vibe when Mari & Ari Chi link up especially on ā34th & 18thā. This track really hits home for me because Iāve lived on 18th Ave pretty much my whole life. This one of them joints you jam out to while your rollin down 34th St.
Mari always kills it with the phone call interludes, with another dope one setting up the Smoke Dawg produced āAutumnā. Mari is always switching up the speed and style of his flow sometimes even a couple of times on one single verse. The āBreathe from Fatigueā line has been stuck in my head for a minute now.
At this point āWill Pimp Pt. 2ā is one of the greatest songs in the history of St.Pete Hip Hop. From all the quotables like āMy Dawg just jumped Calvin Cambridgeā to the Trill beat to all the pimp talk from Mari, this track has it all. The video gives the track another life but either way this is one of them ones.
āGatorā featuring fellow Young Local Ameen Spade sounds like one of them old school Local Muzik joints from back in the day. The chilled out production from Smoke Dawg fits the 727 vibe perfectly for two of the cities best to just craft another classic. Ameen Spade has always been one of my favorite lyricists so whenever we get a verse from him I get hype. Mari is always painting pictures of St.Pete lifestyle with his words, making his songs even more relatable.
With a discography so rich with classics it was only right to show love to one of my favorite projects in the entire history of St.Pete Hip Hop. Keep it locked to Jit Camp for the next St.Pete Hip Hop Essential EP review.
Cowboy By Takeo teams up with Tattoo Artist Doghunter3k to create a tattoo inspired collab tee and splash sheet just screaming to get inked on skin.
ššÆš¤ ā ļø
Cowboy and Doghunter3k came together and drew up images containing elements that fit each artists style and themes. To me itās almost like if you put Trigun into a āFear & Loathing in Las Vegasā situation but from the world of Cowboy By Takeo.
Fear & Loathing In Tampa Bay Cowboy By Takeo X Doghunter3k
The front of the tee features the images from the splash sheet. The back features the Cowboy By Takeo X Doghunter3k logo. Only 24 shirts have been made available, making this a rare gem for all the Cowboy collectors.
Made to be inked Au Revoir š
Each pieces includes a copy of the splash sheet that inspired the collab. I really dig all the new accessories featured in the sheet like the cigs. The Bounty Hunter motif is always a place I wanted to see Cowboy enter, on some bandit shit. All the images are ready to be tattooed or mixed and matched to your liking.
Like I mentioned before this collab is limited to 24 pieces total. Everyone that wants Cowboy will be able to get Cowboy.
The good people at High Tolerance ENT are back with another brazy tour. They linked back up with Robb Bank$ after his successful tour a few months back, but this time Robb is bringing along underground staple Craig Xen as well as a slew of Tampa Bay Hip Hop favorites to stack up the show, making the event canāt miss.
ššÆšØšø by Raggy47
No stranger to the Tampa Bay Area, Robb Bank$ consistently puts on a great show no matter the occasion. I really hope he plays āGriffith Did Nothing Wrongā itās one of my favorites. The whole crowd is gonna be reppin the set once ā430 Kuban Dollā comes on,
No stranger to the underground scene H-Towns own Craig Xen has been due for a performance in Tampa Bay and this tour gives him the perfect opportunity to do so. I am really hype to see what Xen brings to a live show since his music has so much energy.
šø by Raggy47
It wouldnāt be a High Tolerance show without DJ Skum on the 1s & 2s. With the two headliners bringing so much energy on their own, itās safe to say Skum will have the crowd amped up playing the biggest hits in the underground as well as putting you on some hidden gems from the scene.
šø by toasttothegods_
So hype to see Sunny Fritz perform a live set. He brings so much energy with his stage presence has it is. Hopefully heās got some of my favorites like āDangerousā, āOff The Shitsā, and āBluhdy Moneyyā on the set list. I know heās been in the studio as of late so we might get some unreleased joints off his upcoming project to hold fans over.
šø by Raggy47
Jit Camp Bonfire Podcast alumni Seafoodsteve his returning to the show scene right where he belongs. We touched on how much he thrives off the crowd so you already know seafood is gonna bring it. Hopefully we get a couple joints from the Florida Underground classic āThe Passingā as well as some of the new music he has been working on. ā Versace Bob Rossā is a must.
ššÆš ššÆš¹
Boysenberry Clan representatives Vonzell Sly & Lil Devilman will be in the building, performing joints off of both their latest projects. From Sly I am hype to hear ā5 Dollazā live. Lil Devilman just dropped āWhatatripā so expect him to play a few joints off there. If they end out their set with āCanāt Stop Wonāt Stopā I can leave the show a happy man.
šø by Raggy47
Staple of the Tampa Bay Hip Hop scene YZM will also be blessing us with a set. I know heās got a couple new projects dropping to end out the year so we might get some preview of those joints. āLove Sick Black Summerā is one of my favorite projects of the year, so I am it will be interesting to see if YZM picks anything off that project to add to the set list.
ššÆšš½
The kings of the Pop Up game REACH are back at it again, hosting Robbās pop up during the day featuring some exclusive merch, possibly only available in the Tampa Bay Area. See what other product the homies at REACH have available as well, they are always dropping game changing pieces.
I need everyone across the entire Tampa Bay Area to pull up for this show, and get a taste of the type of energy High Tolerance ENT is bringing to the Tampa Bay Area.
Over the past year or so Deezy Wee The Reaper has been pioneering his own chopped up/ slowed down mixes over in the 813. The āGrave Mixā is an outlet for artists to drop unreleased music that is just sitting in their file graveyard. Whether you smoked out or just lurkin with tha homies the Grave Mix is on some reap shit. Welcome to tha Grave Mix!
ššÆšŖ¦Grave Mix Vol.1
The inaugural mix features unreleased joints from The Reaper himself. All the spooky drops and horror film cuts add into the Grave theme. I dig how the beat will still be at normal speed but Deezy will slow down the vocals, giving off a haunting presence.
Grave Mix Vol. II (Grave Rob Edition)
Vol.II is my favorite Pre Guapo Era Grave Mixes. This was the first installment featuring other artists, dubbed the Grave List. Vern Sr, Indie Indigo, Richie Guapo, John Lam, & 750ds. Anytime old school film clips are sampled on a project I get hype. This mix is Trill af. Itās rare nowadays to see artists still trying to push Trill culture forward especially in Florida, but Deezy comes at it with a genuine approach while adding in his own flavor. The more cloud rap and Trill tracks selected for this mix are what make it my favorite.
Grave Mix Vol. III (Hosted By Richie Guapo)
From the Grave List to hosting the Grave Mix, this is the first installment to feature Richie Guapo as host. This installment features joints from Guapo himself, E$krilla, Vern Sr, Fetti Suo, Lil Page, YZM, Sunny Fritz, and Indie Indigo. Whenever the old school wresting drops are added in to the beginning of each track I get so hype. I think Deezy still had my favorite joint on this mix, his style fits perfectly with the Grave Mix concept.
Grave Mix Vol.IV (Smoke Mix)
The 4th installment of the Grave Mix is for all the smokers. Deezy & Guapo hand picked some of the haziest tracks from Cloudmaster Price, Drogotdoe, Three D. Swayze, Nico Sweet, Juice Ronaldo, Pusha Preme, and Guapo himself. My favorite joints off the mix come from Drogotdoe & Swayze. This is the mix you just roll up and lurk out to. It was really dope every the Grave Mix of āHennydropguapā.
With Grave Mix Vol.VI waiting in the shadows itās only a matter of time until the Reaper opens the Grave again with another stacked list. Hopefully one day we can bring the $luggs from 727 to the Grave for one big $lugged out Grave Mix, crossing over both sides of the bay.
AJ Peterson is one of the most prolific creatives in the entire Tampa Bay Scene. From his art work, to his music solo and with the band Open Culture, to his video & clothing work with Goodjobadult, and creative director work for Darkaire management, AJ pretty much does it all. For this feature I wanted to show some love to his art work he has for sale on his DEPOP site.
Marriage Of City and Savior ššÆš„
I really dig the abstract approach used in AJās work. Usually their is some sort of monstrous figure or figures present in each piece, almost a reflection of the society we live in. The city mentioned in the title is featured behind the figure with āNot Your Cityā featured above. āEat Your Problemsā can have many meanings but Iāll leave that up to the viewer.
ššÆā”ļø
This untitled peace reminds me of the lizard people they say hollowed out the moon to take over the earth. This could also be referenced in the small stock figures featured below the grinning monster.
Leader
The greven figure wearing shoes in this piece called āLeaderā remind me of the taking couch from āPee Weeās Playhouseā but with shoes on. The figure appears to be at some abstract lemonade stand offering āFresh Squeezed Citrusā. I dig the almost patchwork approach to the piece.
Common goal
āCommon Goalā is one of my favorite pieces from AJ. I really dig the black, red, and yellow color scheme. The money bag represents the common goal we all have and the power of a dollar. The figure comes off as a bang robber to me, flaunting his bag of money.
Social alarm
The weird sound frequencies surrounding the piece I feel represent the alarm factor referenced in the title. Notice the arrows pointing down next to ārateā and the arrows pointing up on the right side of the piece. In the shoe holding the head of the figure it appears a different scene is going on. Champagne bottles make a couple appearances in this piece.
Blast off
This piece āBlast Offā features arrows as well which are becoming a recurring theme of AJās work. The figure shown in the middle of the piece has similar characteristics to the one featured in āCommon Goalā, both have their eyes on the dollar signs.
If any of these pieces catch your fancy hit the homie up or pick one up from his DEPOP site trashbagboy.
We take it back where my love for Cowboy By Takeo began, on the DEPOP page. The homie is dropping all the one of one statement pieces on here, for the true fashion sommeliers. Hereās a feature on a few of the pieces available in the shop.
ššÆš¤
Known for their Cowboy Ink splattered jean jacket statement pieces, Cowboy By Takeo flip the concept by adding the technique to pants. The vintage reworked denim is layered with a colorful pastel ink which are then in an over for multiple sessions, allowing each layer of color to pop, everything is done in house.
Whole Lotta YellaFTF
Love the yellow hits on these Classic Levis 511 straight denim are a total vibe. I am pretty sure the yellow jean jacket is my favorite jacket piece so this feels like a companion to that. Anytime the Cowboy logo is incorporated even in small hits Iām sold. Shout out to Balaclava Boys and Fuck Tha Feds. I like how the ink almost looks like distressing.
Blowin Minds
Really dig the logo hits on the front of these Dickie carpenter denim. The ink work on the back pockets is brazy and really the centerpiece of the pants. The blue, pink, and green color splashes surprisingly work really well.
Sun Burst
The whole front of the canvas is used on this piece, coming off like an exploding sun with orange, red, and white hits. No Cowboy branding on these but the minimalism works well on this one.
Whole Lotta CowboyThe pocket work
From no logos to a whole gang of Cowboys. These Levi carpenter denim jeans might be my favorite piece of this latest drop from Cowboy. The color work on the back pockets reminds me of a graffiti wall tagged by Cowboy.
Kaleidoscope Cowboy
I really dig how the Cowboy logo looks in white especially surrounded by the barrage of colors Cowboy implements on these vintage Levis 501. I would love to see Cowboy possibly flip this approach onto tees.
Rainy Dayz
The color drip at the top of these Levis 517 reminds me of rain that would appear on a painting but the whole idea takes another form when itās splashed on vintage denim. For some reasons these joints remind me of NY and now I wanna bump āHardknockā by Joey Bada$$.
Cowboy Le Fleur Devils in the details Next level distressing
These reworked Levi 501 capris are some next level shit. The homies at Cowboy incorporated hand embroidered flowers into the piece, brining the detail work to the next level. The pattern going down the sides of each leg is a dope touch that one might not notice on first glance.
Jackpot š° Au Revoir š
That dollar sign just hits different on these Carhartt blue jeans. One of my favorite touches Cowboy does is whenever he used a big splash of different colors he always incorporates a little white to make the whole picture pop.
Hit up the Cowboy By Takeo Depop site for all of these pieces. Commissions are always welcome so bring your ideas to life. After this insane collection of denim jeans I hope an anticipated denim collab is in reach.
